Do It Yourself Website For Your DIY Project

It seems most small business owners and just about anyone else is looking into having a website.  Do it yourself websites can be just the answer for many of these people, determining if a do it yourself website solution is right for you is what I wrote the short post for.

Knowing what you want your website to do at the end of the project is really key, I think, to deciding if a do it yourself website is the right website for you and your idea.

A website can be a great place for sharing information, making money, and even a great platform for a simple hobby.  A do it yourself blog or website can be just the fix for any of these situations.

I own a small network of websites that focus on the small business and home based business niche.  This project is about 2 years in the making and I’ve had some success.  I’ve also tried a number of different solutions when it comes to websites.  When I mention its important to know what your looking to do with your website, I meant it.

My first website was very simple, I used a company that actively advertised a do it yourself website solution and it was free, I figured, what do I have to loose, right?  To be honest the website really served no useful purpose.  We did post the URL on the business card of a commercial construction firm I owned at the time and I suppose it had maybe a dozen visitors over a two year period.  Basically it was the thing to do at the time, having a website helped with credibility and if someone wanted to learn more about your company, they could.

The Do It Yourself Website Idea

A couple years later I caught on to the fact that people were using the Internet to find information and even buy stuff.  I noticed many of the same sites were popping up on the first page of search engines and common sense told me these websites were getting the lion share of the visitors and making the most money in the industry they were ranking for on the search engines.

It was about this time that I became interested in the Internet, search engines and websites.  I’ve always been and entrepreneur and I notice things with “commercial value”.  It stands to reason that If a person can put a website or a way to buy on the first page of a search engine, they stand a lot better and more sustainable chance of doing business online.

I don’t think a website is the answer for everyone though.  Social networking sites like Face-book and My space offer an excellent opportunity to share information among family and friends, and they make it so easy.  If you have a business idea I think a do it yourself website could be a great solution.

Just having the local techie build a website is probably the most common path for most people who decide to take the web plunge, and most people wind up with a mild let down at best.  Search engines play a much bigger role in website success than any beginner could possibly realise and this is the major cause of the let down.

So what’s the solution?

Glad you asked.  What I did was to find out what the search engines used to rank websites.   I wondered if certain websites would do better just because of the way they were put together.  Guess what? They do.

Out of all the websites I’ve used, a do it yourself website platform called WordPress is far and away the best diy website builder.  Its awesome from a search engine perspective and it’s pretty easy to use even for a beginner.

I use one of the most powerful Search Engine Friendly wordpress templates on the market today and have success because of it, you can too.

In the beginning I had a ton of questions, some fear, and few answers. I muddled through the process of setting up a self hosted wordpress blog and a couple months later started to see improvements.  I’ve set up several do it yourself websites for friends and family and am willing to do the same for you if your interested. I don’t charge much, its not too difficult.  What I can do it get you to the point where all you have to do is add content.

That’s the easy part.  Using a great website platform lets you concentrate on adding content.  It handles most of the technical and tedious stuff for you.

I can be emailed at intentions@createliberty.com if your interested in talking further about the best do it yourself website solution. Thanks.
